Quarter Past Eight Editing
Thoughtful editing to help your words shine.
Welcome to the Word Weaver's Workshop. Here, words aren't just edited — they're enchanted. In this cozy corner of the creative realm, I help writers like you transform drafts into radiant works of art. With a keen eye, a kind heart, and a pinch of stardust, I polish your prose until it shines with your truest voice. No matter what you are crafting, this is your safe space to explore, refine, and grow. Together, we'll stir the cauldron of your creativity, untangle tricky sentences, and whisper a little clarity into your message — without ever losing the magic that makes it yours.
Your words already hold power. I'm just here to help them sparkle.
What I Offer
Thoughtful editing to help your words shine.
A comprehensive review of your manuscript's architecture — examining plot, pacing, character development, and overall coherence. I help you see the bigger picture so your story can reach its fullest potential.
Line-by-line refinement of your prose — perfecting grammar, syntax, style, and consistency while honouring your unique voice. Your message, made crystal clear.
The final, careful read — catching every typo, missed comma, and formatting inconsistency before your work meets the world. A polished finish for your masterpiece.
Welcome to your word-whispering session — a creative cauldron where imagination meets intention. Together, we'll take your draft and stir it with care, polishing every phrase until it gleams with your unique magic. Think of this as a gentle spell for your writing: a mix of clarity, rhythm, and heart.
I'll help your words flow — bright, fluid, and true to your voice. No matter the nature of your writing, this is a space to refine your craft with encouragement, curiosity, and a little bit of enchantment. Bring your words; I'll bring the sparkle. Let's brew something beautiful together.
The Weaver Behind the Words

Editor & Word Weaver
I grew up with a love of the English language and have always been an avid reader. It was no surprise when I chose to study English at university where I obtained my Baccalaureate of English with Honours. I worked with words during my full-time employment as a young adult, and then stayed home as my husband and I grew our family.
I noticed over the years that I was fascinated with the English language — word usage, different ways to say the same thing, Canadian spelling, grammar, sentence structure, ways to use punctuation and the rules they follow.
I started Quarter Past Eight Editing in 2023, and in 2024 I completed my Certificate in Editing from Simon Fraser University. I have been casting my spells ever since. Some clients I have had the pleasure to work with are Cardinal Press, The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Elsevier Inc, and Northrose Publishing.
Ready to refine your project? I'd love to hear from you. Share a few details about your writing and what type of editing you're looking for, and I'll be in touch soon to guide you through the next steps.

What writers say about working with the Word Weaver
Kristina's copyediting has not only made us look like better writers; it has also helped us to become better writers. Kristina works within the deadlines we agreed to while coming in at or under her estimates.

As a recent author, I valued the knowledge, expertise, and commitment that she brought to my project. I have always put a premium on high quality service and greatly appreciated Ms. Bercier's willingness to work collaboratively as we made our way through each chapter of my book. She was flexible, considerate to my concerns, and carefully focussed on ensuring that the integrity of my voice, as the author, was both respected and honoured. Kristina always made time to respond to my questions, offered creative solutions, and was invested in ensuring that the book conveyed its intended message. Kristina was a delight to work with and I would welcome an opportunity to work with her on future projects.
